BAWDESWELL VILLAGE SIGN
| In
1982 a competition was held to design a Village Sign for Bawdeswell.
The design chosen was by 15 year old Mark Fairhurst a pupil of Reepham High School. It depicts the legendary Reeve of Bawdeswell stopping at Balder's Well. The sign was carved by Harry Carter of Swaffham and ended an era of making similar signs for many villages around Norfolk. "This is definately the last one!" he is quoted as saying. |
