The FRIENDS OF BAWDESWELL CHURCH
             ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

This year’s church anniversary  was commemorated on Saturday 30th July with an evening concert given by the distinguished musician, Dr. Gerald  Gifford.

Entitled 'Georgian Delights', to complement the neo-Geogian architecture of our beautiful church, the programme included works by many well known and lesser known composers of the era.                                     .
The programme was executed most skilfully with Dr. Gifford introducing each piece and alternating between the harpsichord, positioned at the front of the church and the chamber organ, residing just in front of the gallery at the west end.

This gave an interesting sound dimension for the audience and demonstrated the wonderful acoustics of the building.                              .

The Church, which had just the day before had its rewiring completed after eight weeks work, had been thoroughly cleaning from top to bottom by the friends group. She looked and smelt ready to celebrate her birthday in great style!

As usual Sue Lilwall and her team had enhanced the church with the most stunning flower arrangements, setting the scene for the recital and supper.                      .

We were very privileged and honoured to welcome Dr. Gerald Gifford, a performer of international repute to Bawdeswell and it was very encouraging to see over 70 in the audience.                                    .
Thank you to all who helped with making the evening the great success it undoubtedly was and we look forward to bringing such high quality events to Bawdeswell in the future.
