Letter from the Rector
FROM THE RECTOR

Dear Everybody, hello again.

What’s on offer locally for young people?  Fresh air, space, friendly faces and schools, and much more.  But then….  Although these are lovely villages to live in, they’re not easy to live in for those who feel stuck here.  Some of our schoolchildren, especially from outlying places, have a lengthy commute to secondary school.  Some of the young in our communities can feel they’re missing out.

Some new things, then.
· There will be a new Countrysiders (Young Farmers’) club for 10-14s beginning in Bawdeswell, and the Rock Solid 10-14s club is moving to Lyng.  Both clubs will be on alternate Wednesdays.  Young people can come to both.
· The “Gig” church service at Bawdeswell starts next month.  It will be short, snappy, and have more variety, with opportunity for younger people to participate and lead.
· I’m not good with txt msgs, but I’d like anybody of any age, but especially the young, to email me their address so that I can start a contact group to send everyone a “Spiritual Thought for the Week”.  Email me at davidhead@beeb.net.  You may be surprised by the thoughts I send.

For all of us, it’s important to love the place we’re in, to feel at home. Some of us may never want to leave.  But there’s always room for more activities; those who’ve run youth clubs in the past have found it difficult to find helpers.  There’s a group in Bawdeswell wants to start up a club for younger children, another group trying to get started in Lyng, (neither of them church-based.)  Anyone interested?

God bless you in your community life
