THE FRIENDS OF BAWDESWELL SCHOOL

Where the Money Goes

All in all the last academic year was very successful in respect to fundraising and what was achieved within and for school. There are loads of exciting and interesting ideas planned for the new academic year. Aimed at raising funds to benefit both the pupils currently attending Bawdeswell Primary School and those in the future.
The library is progressing well, slowly but surely it is becoming a very usable and well used space with ever expanding information resources, but there is still a fair way to go to complete the area, so fundraising for this project remains a priority.
Classroom contributions continue, each term an amount of money is given to the individual teachers to spend on items specific to their class. Mrs. Westall purchased equipment; Mrs. Wilson, an educational pack for Banham Zoo; Mr. Kerkham, Scrapbox equipment and Mrs. Hallam used hers for coach fares to a choir rehearsal.
Other monies raised helped to provide the children with all of those little extras which make school an overall more sociable and interesting place to be, for example the token gifts from Father Christmas last December, the generous donations from the Easter bunny and the fantastically popular climbing wall.
So with all of this in mind, watch this space, check the notice board and support the school. Every little helps and it is very much appreciated. The Friends of Bawdeswell School is a voluntary body of parents who would welcome any new members, either on a regular basis or just occasionally. More adult support is always appreciated.

We are currently trying to organise trick or treating, as we appreciate not all the villagers are happy to participate. If you are happy for children to knock at your door then please put a pumpkin or sign in a prominent place. If you really take Halloween seriously then perhaps you could contact FOBS and we could arrange apple bobbing or spooky stories in your garden.
