FOXLEY SOCIAL CLUB
On Wednesday afternoon, 21st March, we had Mr Jon Read giving us a talk, with slides, on The Red Dragon and The Tylwyth Teg. Despite the rather esoteric title the talk was basically a collection of anecdotes and amusing experiences from Mr Read’s very many holidays in North Wales. The area remembered by Mr Read with great fondness was in the main the region surrounding Snowdonia, which can best be described as wild, remote, and extremely beautiful. Pictures of the small villages that he encountered on his travels, with their stone and slate cottages against a backdrop of mountains, seemed to typify the very essence of the rural Welsh.
Mr Read’s enthusiastic recommendations for the area and its inhabitants would surely have pleased the Welsh Travel Association: it certainly had quite a few of us reaching for the travel brochures when we reached home. S.B.

FOXLEY NOTICE
It has been brought to the attention of the Foxley editor that dog fouling is apparently on the increase, particularly in the Mill Road and Old Fakenham Road areas. Those complaining of this anti-social act were at great pains to point out that where the culprits were seen, they were not known Foxley inhabitants, but were in all probability visitors to the holiday and short-term lets.
It would be of some help if owners of the holiday lets would make it known to their visitors that uncollected dog fouling is unacceptable. There is also going to be an approach to the Parish Council to see whether notices could be displayed around the village asking dog owners to make an effort to clean up after their pets.
N.B. Plastic supermarket bags are ideal for this task! D.B.
FOXLEY PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION
The only candidates names submitted formally to stand for Foxley are:- Nigel Hatch, Nicky Mears & John Harvey. We shall be looking to co-opt one or two more, if we are to be able to work properly (while three is a quorum, it does not allow for anyone being away). There are insufficient numbers to hold an election. J.H
Date of Annual Parish Meetings – Tues. 8th May 7.30pm. Foxley Village Hall.
