Dear Editor

Sadly Jims old hip is giving him a bit of jip and he's having to give up helping us in the garden. Its not a posh garden, it'll be forking borders raking leaves, trimming trees and hedges(not high ones) and general help. If you could help for a couple of mornings or afternoons....or times to suit yourself please call.......

Dear Editor

I have just found out that the Parish Council are considering allowing a mobile phone mast to be erected in our village.  As a Health Kinesiology practitioner I spend a lot of my time dealing with many illnesses and problems caused to both adults and children by external electromagnetic sources. Electromagnetic Fields in the environment typically come from outdoor power lines, mobile phones and masts, electric pylons, house wiring, electrical appliances, electrical heating systems, fans, watches and clocks, in fact anything that plugs in and most things with batteries. Electromagnetic fields (EMF's) in the environment are often strong enough to disturb the normal electric currents of the body itself.  These external EMF's can cause symptoms like dulled mental capacities, headaches, faulty metabolism, pain such as arthritis, impaired healing almost any symptoms at worse heart attacks, strokes and cancer.

Our bodies have enough to deal with from our household appliances and computers do we really want a huge mast of any kind within a 5 mile radius of our village giving out large amount of EMF's and radiation.  If a mast was erected within this vicinity I would feel very unhappy about living here . I urge any of you who have any reservations at all to contact the parish council as soon as possible to air your views and concerns.  Do not believe any mobile phone company when they say there is no threat as they are a business and only concerned with profit

Put yourself and your family first before a better reception on your mobile phone.

COMMENT

Proposed Bawdeswell Phone Mast

The Government  Health Protection Agency has produced a report ( Ref: NPBB-R321) in which it states that the power emitted by cellular phone masts is so low ( a few watts or at the larger ones tens of watts) that the “danger zone” extends to within a few centimetres of  the aerial.  As these masts are at least 6 metres high, you would have to shin up them to do yourself an injury.  It is worth pointing out that TV transmitting stations such as the one at the village of Tacolneston which serves Norfolk, has since 1957 been radiating 250,000watts of high frequency power on BBC1 alone.  Others around the country radiate up to 1 million watts per channel.  People are able to work and live at the bottom of these masts and have not been fried. One or two watts from a mobile phone mast pales to insignificance. You are in far greater danger from your microwave in the kitchen. Worry about that, if you must.  But as  corporal Jones in Dad’s Army always says “Don’t panic, don’t panic!”
