Paraguay is located in the heart of South America, landlocked between Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia.  Any visitor will discover a country with many attractions: rugged steep hills covered with forest, numerous rivers and waterfalls, unique kinds of vegetation, fruits and animal species, as well as the many traditions and customs which are still carried on in rural areas and villages.  There is a large gap between the rich and the poor, the main cause of which is unequal distribution of land.  10% of the population owns 66% of the countryside.  1 in 4 Paraguayans is poor and the poorest 40% do not have enough to eat.

Paraguayan women can earn an income by selling their many and varied craft items, the most well-known of these being the ‘nanduti’ (spider web lace).  Although many Paraguayan women are hard-working and ambitious, most remain care-givers and raise a family single-handedly.

Please join us for this very moving service.   Everyone welcome!
