EAST ANGLIAN CLASSIC HISTORIC RALLY
On the night of 22nd/23rd of April
2006 beginning at 0030 hrs, something like 50 cars, all of the 1950s and 1960s
vintage passed down The Street, Foxley at minute
intervals as part of one of the many stages of a rally organized by Chelmsford
Motor Club in aid of the East Anglian Air
Ambulance.
Notices of the event were put through the letter-boxes of
all the inhabitants of The Street notifying everyone of the coming
event.
It is extremely
doubtful whether there were too many spectators for this event at this hour:
although your editor was told by one resident of The Street that she lay awake
purposely to hear the cars pass, but fell asleep after hearing just
three. Well it was late!
At going to press, the amount raised for the East Anglian Air Ambulance is not yet available.
I’m sure we all wish
they did very well.
