THE BECK W I

Various appointments, illness and holidays meant that very few members were able to attend our May meeting.

Gill and Jennifer welcomed Trainee Adviser Sue Ovenden, who came to talk to us about the Resolutions; also Barbara, who as our representative, will take our decisions to Cardiff in June.

Two Resolutions. 1) Renewable energy in all buildings, re-building and renovations, and 2) To recognise participation in sport - this is essential in a healthy population. We spent some time listening to Sue giving us details of the Resolutions and finally agreed to support them both.

After coffee, Jennifer read the Minutes of last month's meeting and Gill read an interesting and welcome letter Ruth Whitmore had received from Carol Tipper who now lives in Australia.

Faith won the raffle. There is no meeting in the Old School Room next month but we are invited to meet Peter Bradbury in Salle Church at 6p.m. on 12th June. This should indeed be an interesting hour or so, and we all finish up at Gill's home for a cup of tea.

BOOK CLUB

Held in the bar on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm.  New
members welcome.

Our May meeting was poorly attended and, as there had been problems
obtaining a copy of the book choice, this will be discussed at our June
meeting together with a new book choice - " The Time Travellers Wife "
by Audrey Nifenegger.  We hope to see you there.
