BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL-EXTRACTS OF THREE MEETINGS HELD ON TUESDAY 2nd MAY 2006 AT 7.00pm IN THE VILLAGE HALL

PRESENT:   Councillor’s Hind, Mallen, Cockburn, Lilwall, McColville and Swain .

APOLOGIES:   Councillor Wallace     Mrs. I. Floering Blackman(CC)

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING:  No items received for Agenda and parishioners present did not raise any items for discussion - PC went on to the Annual Parish Council meeting.

ANNUAL PARISH COUNCIL MEETING:

The Chairman thanked all Councillors and the Clerk for their hard work during the past year.

-          Councillor Hind elected as Chairman.  Councillor Mallen as Vice Chairman

-          Clerk presented a resume of last years work.

-          Clerk formally presented Accounts for year 2005/06 – these were duly signed and agreed.

Receipts were £11,969.31 and Payments £7,804.14 - leaving the sum of  £4,165.17 to be carried over to year 2006/07.   Date for Audit 4th September 2006.

The Clerk reminded Councillors and parishioners present that Parish Council elections will take place May 2007 and all Councillors are due for re-election.  (The current Government are proposing to change the way Parish/Town Councils operate in future – no definite facts are known at the moment.)       

MAY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING:

-Planning- Wood Farm, Reepham Road – Breckland still waiting for reasons why Vehicle Storage building should be regarded as Curtailage building.  Unless PC has definite proof that asbestos had not been disposed of legally Env.Agency unable to take action.

- Anglian Water – letter sent to County Surveyors Dept. asking if sewers were adopted at same time as Highways adopted 10.1.1980.  Reply from NCC stated  “Estate Road Officer at County Hall confirms that foul sewer was inspected by the District Council acting on behalf of AW before Highways adopted.  They are looking into full documentation and will contact us again with findings”.

- The Street footway –south side recently inspected and repair work identified.  Clerk to query whether ‘X overs’ for Meadow Loke and Bell Inn/Stable Cottage are included in reconstruction work.

- Quotes to be obtained for chain link fencing around rest of Children’s Play area to make it secure and rising hinges for entrance gate to ensure it closes properly.

- Village sign -Councillor McColville with the help of children at Primary School designing part of new sign.

- Councillor Mallen who is on the Patients Participation Group for Elmham Surgery confirms that a Social Worker is now attached to Surgery to follow up care for patients coming out of hospital and needing help.
