Benefice News &  Events

Welcome to our first Benefice news sheet.  We hope that it will make it easier for you to find out what events are taking place which are designed for members of all six parishes.

Individual parish events will still be advertised under their own name elsewhere is the two village magazines. 

If you have an event to advertise which will involve people from all the parishes in the Benefice please contact Sandi Taylor on sandi@bawdeswell.net by the 15^th of each month.  September and February events need to be with Sandi by July and December respectively.

The men’s breakfast was held on Saturday 10^th June in Elsing Village Hall.  23 guests enjoyed a full English breakfast cooked and served by the ladies.  There was time afterwards to chat with fellow guests who included a good representation from all 6 parishes.  It is hope to hold this event quarterly.

Thanks to the ladies involved in planning and hosting this event.

5^th July Rock Solid Barbecue

This will be held at the Rectory at 6.30pm.  There will be games, a maze to solve and don’t forget, Mike’s special burgers!  Please bring a change of clothes for the water games.  Open to anyone in Year 6-Year 9.  If you wish to join in please ring Mike Cummings on 01603 873133

30^th July United Benefice Service

The next united service will be held at Elsing Church at 10.30am.  During this service Licences will be presented to those who have been granted permission by the Bishop of Norwich to administer the chalice.

31^st July – 4^th August      Summer Club

Held in Sparham old Schoolroom from 10am – 12 noon for children aged 5-11.  £1 per session.  The theme will be “Pyramid Rock”.   Please contact Pauline Gray on 01362 688032 or Gill Page on 01362 688379 for more information.

Request!  Does anyone have or know of a guillotine and long arm stapler which they would like to give or lend to us to help in the production of service sheets and pew sheets?  Many thanks.
