Dutch Visitors
On Wednesday 24th May we were visited by our Dutch friends. The children had a fantastic day and it was finished off by a joint concert in the church. Here is what Holly Fuller has written about the day.
It was 10 o’clock in the morning on the 24th May when the St Paulus School, Utrecht children arrived. First we got to know each other and we told each other our names and what instruments we played. After that we had an early break where we played football, England V Holland and we drew 3-3. Once we had finished playing football the whole school listened to the Dutch children and parents. After that we had a school dinner with the Dutch children and parents. In the afternoon the Year 6’s played games with the Dutch children while the Year 5’s did art in the classroom.
At 6 o’clock we started rehearsing the concert in the church, our school had to wear black waistcoats with coloured musical notes on the front. At the concert the Dutch children did their part first. Before they played each piece their headmaster explained what the music was about. Once they had finished their part we started ours. At the end we sang a joint song together. “Pick a Bale of cotton”
All in all it was a fantastic successful day!!!
