Foxley ‘New Age Kurling’
A couple of months ago, Foxley Bowls Club captain, Robert Dewing, began a second sport aimed primarily at youngsters: ‘New Age Kurling’. ‘Kurling’ ‘targets’ and ‘stones’ were acquired, and Tuesday evenings were booked at the village hall. Well Robert seems to have the ‘magic touch’, because just like Short Mat Bowling, the ‘Kurling’ has taken off! It appears to be a resounding success with not only youngsters from Foxley taking part but from other local villages as well. At the moment he is running a ‘full house’. With an
eye to satisfying a demand, Robert along with the Village Hall Committee is
putting a plan together to apply for a grant to fund a small extension to be
built at the rear of the hall.
This would enable more ‘Kurling’ to take place, and more youngsters to
‘come in from the cold’. More
power to your elbow, Bob! Tuesday Evenings at 7.30pm in Foxley Village Hall All ages welcome. £2 including
tea or coffee You’ve
seen “Curling on Ice”, now
