FRIENDS OF BAWDESWELL SCHOOL On Sunday 12th June
the weather wasn’t brilliant, but hey it was a typical English summer day. It
was, to say the least, a little dull. However, it was reasonably warm and it
didn’t quite rain. It was the day of the
Safari Bike Ride, considering the weather there was a quite a good turn out.
A route had been planned through Bawdeswell and Foxley with slight variations
and detours depending on whether you were walking or your cycling ability.
Along the route there were stop off points where refreshments were available,
such as biscuits, strawberries and juice. The route started and
finished at the Village Hall. On returning to the Village Hall the day was
completed with a licensed bar, barbecue and various games, including a
Rounders match. It isn’t quite clear who was the most competitive, the
children or the adults. All
in all a good time was had by all, so it is very likely that this event will
be repeated. The Friends of Bawdeswell School are always looking for original
ideas for fundraisers and events, so if you have any good suggestions we
would be pleased to hear from you. NEXT
