The attendees at the Benefice Men’s Breakfast at Bawdeswell village hall on Saturday 6th January made up in stickability what they lacked in numbers. The breakfast was preceded by an Epiphany Eucharist service in Bawdeswell church led by Tom Candeland.
Robin Taylor gave the ladies who had prepared and served the meal a grateful vote of thanks. The ladies very generously donated the food and after the hall had been paid for £74 was left from the donations received which was sent to the Air Ambulance.
Rock Solid and Seekers have started up again after the Christmas break. The Rock Solid group (for school years age 6-9) meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month in term time at 7pm in Lyng Village Hall. Please ring Mike and Janet Cummings on 01603 873133 for further details.
Seekers meet on the 3rd Saturday at 10-12am in Sparham Old School Room
St Valentine’s Coffee Morning

Before our services of Evensong in Lent round the Deanery there is a Deanery Eucharist at Sparham Church, 7.30pm on Ash Wednesday, 21st February.

Congratulations to all the parishes in the Benefice for meeting the “Parish Share”, our part of the Diocese’s central fund to pay for ministry in 2006. This is on top of routine repairs, some expensive remedial work on some churches, installing some equipment to meet the demands of the Disability Discrimination Act, and day to day running costs. Thank you to all treasurers, helpers, and all who gave through fundraising activity and donations. It was a bit of a struggle, but we made it. Well done.

Two thoughts |
Peace is… glimpsing the beauty of God. and stopping to gaze in wonder |
Peace is… sensing the love of God, and opening up to it like a flower in the sunshine. |
