BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL-EXTRACTS OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 2nd JULY 2007

PRESENT :    Councillors Mallen, Lilwall and Cockburn.  6 parishioners

APOLOGIES:   Councillors Shannon, Hipperson and Beane

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING -   Agreed and signed

-Mr. William Mason has been co-opted onto the PC – (PC now has 7 Councillors)

FOLLAND COURT:      This PA was heard by the Development Control Committee on 2nd July – Councillor Mallen and Gordon Bambridge attended on PC behalf.  Councillor Mallen reported to the PC that this PA had been accepted with conditions on a pathway being constructed around the bend (which will be the Developers – PW – responsibility) and a tree planting scheme.  Breckland Housing Dept. adamant they would not approve bungalows on this site as waiting list shows only 5% of people want bungalows/sheltered housing.   Breckland confirm that if PW do not proceed with this PA in view of the costs of the new footpath, they will sell the land to a developer.  It is thought that if PW do not agree to go ahead they will also sell the Folland Court site to a developer - we have then lost the green space/PO and affordable housing.  Breckland confirm they own this land – Clerk to ask if PC can have a copy of the Deeds proving ownership.

BRECKLAND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK (LDF):   Breckland confirm that David Spencer – Principal Planning Policy Officer and Paul Harris will attend PC Meeting on 3rd September to discuss the LDF and Bawdeswell’s role within that strategy.

- NO SMOKING signs have been put up in the two Bus Shelters –this is a legal requirement and anyone found damaging/removing these signs will be fined.

-NRCC cheque for £1,407.40 grant for fencing/seats/bins received.
