FOXLEY VILLAGE HALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Christine Rushbrook has very kindly agreed to join the committee, and at a meeting held on 21st June she was warmly welcomed into the fold.

As you know, on 8th September, Mary & John Fletcher have kindly offered to open their garden and, as an added bonus, John will be demonstrating his stationary working engines (weather permitting).  The hall will be open with catering, tombola, cakes and a raffle etc and it is hoped that as many people as possible will get involved with this event to raise funds towards the toilet refurbishment.

In addition, THE WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, will be held in the hall on 28th September.    Similar stalls to those on 8th September will be run and the committee would be grateful of any help on this day as well. Sorry the dates are so close but this was unavoidable.

Would anyone who is willing to contribute and help with either of the above events please telephone Ruth 01362-688768, Joan 688330, Stevie 688517 or Christine 688494.

The AGM will be held on Thursday, 16th August at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.  An Agenda will be placed on village notice boards 3 weeks prior to this date, inviting residents to submit, in writing, any questions re village hall matters they would like raised for discussion.

A Family Evening for residents and friends is currently being discussed but no definite date has yet been set.

FOXLEY OPEN GARDEN (Next to St. Thomas’ Church)

Our third Open Garden Day could have been a total disaster considering the prevailing extreme weather, but early visitors enjoyed bright sunshine and the choice of jams and jellies.  It was shortly after 3 o’clock when the first cloudburst came so everyone retired under cover for tea.

We are hoping to rectify some of the damage caused by the storms in time for the next open day on Tuesday, 7th August.

To introduce a touch of nostalgia we plan to have John’s old farm stationary engines working on Tuesday, 4th September. We hope to welcome you then.
