ALL SAINTS CHURCH, BAWDESWELL

Hopefully by the time you read this, the re-wiring of the church will be completed.  It has proved to be a much longer job than anticipated and thankfully for us was at an agreed price.
We now have a safer church and one which complies with modern electrical safety standards.
At the same time we have installed a hearing aid Induction Loop system to help those with hearing difficulties and comply with the Disability Act .
Whilst this work was going on, the weather dislodged another piece of wood from the spire and urgent repairs had to be put in hand by a couple of steeplejacks – young Fred Dibners.
None of this comes cheap and we are so grateful to the fundraising efforts of the Church Friends when it comes to such emergencies.

In August our new regular service pattern comes into force, i.e. all services in Bawdeswell at 10am every Sunday.
We hope this will make  it easier for everyone.  We will miss our monthly evening service of Words & Praise which many of us have come to love, but this will continue as a morning service on the same (second) Sunday of every month and may even replace the traditional Morning Prayer on the third Sunday if this can be agreed by all.  See the back of this magazine for August and September service details.

The church will be manned on Saturday 10th September for the annual Norfolk Churches Trust Sponsored Cycle Ride.  It is a great opportunity to visit our heritage of historic churches around the county, many of which are normally locked.

Our Harvest Festival is to be on Sunday  18th September, the weekend of the Church Friends’ annual Ceilidh & Barn Dance.
Both events are something to look forward to.
It is also the weekend of a Flower Festival in Sparham Church.

Confirmation classes will begin in September.  If you are interested, please contact the Rector on 01603 872381.  The confirmation will take place early in 2006.

Norman Vince  The funeral of Norman Vince of Wood Farm took place on Friday 8th July at Bylaugh church.  Norman passed away on  26th June 2005.
