LETTERS

PC JACKSON(retired)
Sorry we couldn’t get round to say goodbye to so many of you.  We have now gone to start our new life in France.  We would like to say our au revoir to all our friends and neighbours in Bawdeswell and Foxley.  We are taking with us lots of fond memories and leave you with our very best wishes. Peter and April Jackson

The STEPHEN CARL WILLIAMSON Football Trophy 2002
Three in a row for Reepham Town FC, winners again this year.
A large number of people came to all four football matches and although the number at the presentation was very disappointing, we still managed a record £409.08 .
Many thanks to all who donated prizes and money, also bought and sold raffle tickets.
Phil Williamson

Book Club
Do you enjoy reading?   A few of us would like to set up a reading group.  This would provide an opportunity to learn about new authors and make some new friends.
The first meeting is set for Wednesday 16th October at 7.30 in The Old Workhouse Bar, by kind permission of Matt.
Whatever your taste in books, do come along.  We look forward to seeing you.

Bawdeswell Flower Festival
I should like to thank everyone who helped with the Flower Festival and also those who supported us, making it a very successful event. Not least a very big thank you to Robin Taylor, who did so much in the background.  (It is embarrassing for me to include this last sentence. I must thank Bridget, Beryl and Sandi who helped me, and you too Sue – Ed.)

Kathy Florence Rutland - died on 28th August at the N & N University Hospital, aged 91.  She came from a family of eight children, originally from Foulsham but spent the last 19 years at Folland Court in Bawdeswell.  The service was at St Faiths Crematorium near Norwich.

Pearl Blake’s funeral took place on Tuesday 3rd September at All Saints Church in Bawdeswell and was attended by a large family group led by her granddaughter, and about 60 friends and parishioners.  After the service there was a gathering at the Village Hall.  Pearl had lived in a flat at The Old Bell Inn for some years and was well known in the village for her support of things local.  She died after a short illness aged 85 and was cremated at St Faiths Crematorium.  She will be missed.
