A child’s education is the responsibility of the whole of the village” – African Proverb

On September 20th the children held a farewell assembly for Rev Alan  Cunnington, to thank him for all the time he has given to them during his time as Rector of Bawdeswell.

Road Safety Week – 23rd to 29th September –  During the week the children had an assembly on road safety and the Green Cross Code and all children were given stickers and a workbook to complete during the week.

On 25th September Mrs Flint and Andy came to give an assembly for the children on “The parable of the party”

On 9th October the Garlic Theatre came and gave a performance of “Fiddlesticks” to the whole school. It was a wonderful performance and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.

On October 10th 2002 it was  “National Poetry Day” this was celebrated in school with the opportunity to write Poems and have readings in assembly.

Here are a couple of examples of the children’s work:-

Excuses, excuses

Morning Samuel where is your homework?
Don’t know mam
What happened to it?
Dog ate it mam
You didn’t have it yesterday
So what happened to it?
Mum ate it she thought it was toast.
Never mind this is your homework for tonight.
Can’t my mum is ill,
Need it in tomorrow Samuel do not forget?
Where is your homework?
DON’T KNOW!
