At our regular monthly meeting on Thursday 7th November we are very pleased to welcome David Mason who will entertain us with an illustrated talk on “The Wildlife of Breckland” David has taken some stunning photo’s on all aspects of local, national and international aspects of wildlife, and knows his subject as only an experienced countryman can. Non-club members are welcome to join us and we are sure that this event will be memorable. DECEMBER MEETING Our annual Christmas Party will be held on Thursday 5th December. Invitations have been extended to Folland Court residents, Foxley Social Club, and all Bawdeswell senior residents. INVITATION We thank Foxley Social Club for their kind invitation to Bawdeswell & District Friendly Club to join them at their Christmas Party at Foxley Village Hall on Wednesday 11th December. CLUB CHRISTMAS DINNER Our Club Christmas Dinner has now been booked at “The White Horse” at Longham. A coach will be provided, and final details will be discussed at the November Meeting. NORTH ELMHAM CHRISTMAS STALLS Our ever-willing team of charity stalls ladies are aiming to repeat their success of last year at North Elmham. In addition to a gifts stall they will also run the popular” whisky trail” and all members are asked to give our team as much support as possible. LATE OCTOBER OUTING The club is running a trip to Caithness Crystal on Thursday 31st October. We pick up in Bawdeswell at 1230 and leave Kings Lynn at 5pm. There are a few seats left on the coach and anyone including non-members who wish to travel on the trip should ring Anne Hayes on 01362 688442. CONGRATULATIONS At the club’s October meeting our newly appointed Social Secretary Barbara Collier presented her proposals for a new look at the way we arrange our social affairs. Each member was presented with personal folders, which included diaries, forecast of events of potential interest, and questionnaires designed to improve an understanding of member’s personal and collective interests. It was very obvious that a great deal of thought, time and effort had been put into the preparation of these packages. Club members wish to thank Barbara for her enthusiasm and hard work in the preparation that this entailed. WELL DONE. contd.
