ALL SAINTS CHURCH, BAWDESWELL In last month’s Reeve’s Tale you will have seen a note regarding the plans to form a new charity called The Friends of Bawdeswell Church to help support the church building. A meeting took place on Monday the 14th October to establish the key objectives of this new organisation and to form a small management committee. The objectives of the Friends will be: 1 To organise and raise funds to be specifically used for maintaining the Church building and its fabric. 2 To bring the Church into the centre of the local community and encourage the community to work together and to use the church building. 3 To raise c£5000 per annum 4 Raised funds will be separate from the church general fund, and therefore will not be taken into account when applying for grants etc. It is hoped that through a number of fund raising events, such as the “100 Club”, Race Night, Summer Ball, Craft and Art Fair and Concerts, support will be gained from a number of well wishers who do not necessarily choose to attend the services. More details of the events for next year will be published shortly. In the meantime, please support us by becoming a 100 club member. Help to preserve our unique Church building! Church” has been formed to enable our community to build a fund of money
to be used for the maintenance and enhancing of All Saints Church. This
will ensure that repairs are carried out as and when required, so that
we in Bawdeswell have a church that can be enjoyed by the wider community
for many generations to come, without being a financial burden.

We
aim to do this via a number of fund raising activities during the year,
which will include prize draws and social events. Our first fund raising
activity is the formation of a “100 club”.
I write to invite you to become a member of our “100 club” prize draw, which will start in January 2003. Membership is limited to a maximum of 100. The cost of membership is £24 per annum, just £2 each month! 50% of membership income will be paid back to members in the form of prizes. There will be three winners each month and the prizes paid are as follows:- Normal Monthly Prizes: 1st
£50, 2nd £25, 3rd £10.
The prize draw will take place in Church at a coffee morning on the first Saturday of each month at 10.30am. The winners will be notified direct as well as being published in the Reeve’s Tale. All you have to do is e-mail
us your contact details and we will get in touch with you as soon as
possible.
