FOXLEY OPEN GARDENS DAY 2002

The editor wishes to apologise for a typing error in the summing up report published last month.
In the acknowledgments several important names were omitted and others in the wrong place.  It should have read:  “…the Foxley ladies came into their own, namely Maisie Parfitt with her Ploughman’s Lunches, Margaret Greentrees with her teas and cakes, and Joan Parfitt with her Beefburger Bar, and last but not least Sheila Barrett with all her helpers in the Village Hall Cafeteria.”

I much prefer any copy for the Reeve’s Tale to be submitted either by e-mail or on a computer disk, because that way the exact original wording can be used without having to be re-typed and accidents like this happening.  Sorry.
Robin Taylor, Editor.

REEPHAM & DISTRIUCT ROTARY CLUB

It has been a very busy time for Club members.  Over the August Bank Holiday weekend we were involved with organising the Art Tent at the Aylsham Show.  Over £1,200 was raised for charity.  A tremendous amount of work is put into this event - it's not just a case of turning up on the day and offering the pictures for sale -  we have to contact all the artists, collect and hang the pictures and much effort was put in by Rotarians Stephen Callow and David Laws.

The next fundraising event is a sponsored cycle ride, so we are all hoping for good weather on the day. The first weekend in October sees us hosting a group of Dutch Rotarians from Delden-Borne.  This will be a very busy weekend.

Does anybody have an unwanted Christmas tree about 20 ft in height? Rotarians always supply one for Reepham market place every Christmas. Members are quite happy to cut down the tree and transport it to the market place.  If anybody could donate one please ring the Secretary,
Robert Briggs
